Background
Marina Bay Sands is a world-renowned, 5-star hotel in the Marina district of Singapore. This hotel has been opened since June 2010 and continues to impress guests with its modern design and stunning architecture. Even in January 2023 (13 years later), our visit to Marina Bay Sands showed that the hotel has continued to maintain its “wow” factor.

Where is it?
The hotel is situated in a prime location, surrounded by Singapore’s signature attractions. You can easily walk to nearby attractions such as the Art Science Museum, Gardens by the Bay, Helix Bridge, Marina Shoppes, and the Casino. It is practically impossible to miss this hotel from any angle in Singapore
What’s it like?
Marina Bay Sands is divided into three architecturally stunning towers, rising 57 stories high. Many people travel to Singapore solely to see this iconic hotel and admire it in person. Each tower has its own section of the hotel, with a spacious and modern design, open high ceilings, and grand entrances.
Upon entering the lobby, you’ll find it to be very busy, offering a range of services, including restaurants, coffee shops, boutique shops, reception, and private elevator entrances to the prestigious CE LA VIE rooftop restaurant/club. There’s also a passageway to the casino and shopping mall across the street.
The rooms
With 2561 rooms and suites to choose from, we stayed in the Deluxe King Harbour View Room. The room was very spacious, featuring a one-person working desk, a living space, and a large balcony for lounging. The view from our balcony left us speechless as we can see a glimpse of Gardens by the Bay along with the waterfront. The toiletries in the washroom were complimentary and they added to the glamorous and luxurious ambience of the room.
Amenities
Im sure we have all seen photos Marina Bay Sand’s rooftop infinity pool but it has always been my dream to see it for myself. Marina Bay Sands is known for its rooftop infinity pool. This pool wraps around the hotel. It is divided into a family and adults-only section for all guests to enjoy. We visited early in the morning and were able to secure a spot with an unobstructed view. It is important to mention that each guest has their own room card for pool access purposes, preventing unauthorized entry. The hotel gym is also well-equipped, featuring a stunning view of the city from 50 floors up. You wouldn’t even realize youre sweating on the treadmill watching the sunset of the city from 50 floor up.
The service at Marina Bay Sands is friendly and professional. During our stay, the hotel kindly offered my partner a birthday wine to celebrate his birthday on our night here. Although it never actually made it to our room, we appreciated the gesture.
Food and beverage
The selection of dining and culinary experiences at this hotel is extraordinary, with multiple restaurants on-site, including CUT by Wolfgang Puck, Lavo Italian Restaurant & Rooftop Bar, Spago Bar & Lounge, Wakuda Restaurant & Bar, CE LA VI Restaurant and SkyBar, and Mott 32 Singapore. The Marina Shoppes, connected to the hotel, offers a range of restaurants from fast food to fine dining and from asian to western cuisine.
We had dinner at Mott 32 and it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. The staff was kind enough to seat us at the bar, even without a reservation, during Chinese New Year. As a Hong Kong native, I was impressed by the perfectly crafted Cantonese fine dining experience as we typically enjoy home cooked/ food vendor typed delicacies.
After dinner, we managed to secure a last-minute reservation at CE LA VI’s Sky Bar through the concierge. However, being a hotel guest does not guarantee a reservation at these busy venues, so it’s best to book in advance online. Although the view was stunning, we found the Sky Bar to be underwhelming, and we felt more comfortable enjoying some wine privately at our room’s balcony. To be honest, the view from our balcony was just as stunning.

Marina Bay Sands definitely lives up to its hype. We stayed for one night and we did not run out of activities to do throughout the entire time. We fully enjoyed our time engaging in a variety of activities from having a great time at the casino, window shopping the shoppes, tanning at the rooftop infinity pool, enjoying our dinner at Mott 32, to enjoying a little too much wine at our room’s balcony overlooking Gardens by the Bay. Our stay at Marina Bay Sands was one of the most memorable and entertaining stays. Despite the expensive price tag, it is worth experiencing for one night, once in our lives!
