Background
Silks Club Kaohsiung is a newer addition to the hotels in Kaohsiung, having opened in 2017. As a sister chain of Regent Hotels, we were excited to visit this more luxurious and exclusive hotel during our short trip in November 2022.

Where is it?
Located in Kaohsiung’s Sandou Shopping District, Silks Club Kaohsiung is just a 5-minute walk to the main Sandou Shopping District station. There are plenty of nearby attractions worth visiting, such as the 85 Sky Tower and multiple night markets that encompass the hotel, including Jhongsiao Night Market, Guanghua Night Market, and Kaisyuan Night Market.
What’s it like?
The lobby is one of the most stunning upscale lobbies we have ever seen. It is spacious, minimal, and resembles a business building in the show Suits. The hotel staff informed us that this hotel is the only hotel in the world to have a 4D kinetic installation that resembles “dancing particles.” It is truly mesmerizing, and we watched the show that plays every hour with this installation.
The rooms
There are 147 rooms at Silks Club Kaohsiung. We stayed at the Deluxe King Room. The hotel room design serves a comforting and calming atmosphere, with Japanese influences of a minimalistic white colour palette paired with detailed light birch wood. My partner particularly enjoyed this design a lot!
The rooms are spacious, with a subtle division between the sleeping area and the seating area, a one-person working desk that is well-equipped with charging stations, and a walk-in closet to store our luggage properly. I loved this is because it can get unsightly when all our belongings are scattered on the floor. The bathroom was breathtaking, with marble walls and counters, a dual sink, a spacious shower, and a soaking tub with a small window view of the city. Unfortunately, during our stay, there were some technical issues with the hotel bath tub water temperature, and we could not enjoy it fully.
Amenities
Silks Club Kaohsiung offers a variety of amenities, including a well-equipped gym, a gorgeous outdoor swimming pool that stretches along the hotel, and a beautiful spa and wellness center for wellness needs or massages. As our stay was short, we did not get to enjoy all the amenities at the hotel, but we are sure they are worth experiencing.
Food and beverage
The hotel offers three dining options: Ukai Tei Kaohsiung, which serves teppanyaki, kaiseki, and other Japanese dining options, a hotel lounge, and Dassai bar, a sake bar that offers small bites to guests. The hotel also offers breakfast to guests at an additional cost. However, we opted to enjoy a traditional Taiwanese breakfast from street vendors nearby instead.
Janice’s verdict
Value | 8/10 |
Location | 9/10 |
Amenities | 9/10 |
Services | 9/10 |
This hotel is definitely on the higher end in terms of luxury. We spent around $200 USD per night here, which is around $6400 NTD. While some might argue that you can experience a lot with $6400 NTD in Taiwan, being able to spend around $200 to enjoy a 5-star hotel experience and stunning décor was worth it for our stopover in Kaohsiung.
Silks Club Kaohsiung is an excellent choice for those who seek a luxurious stay in Kaohsiung. With its incredible design, comfortable rooms, and convenient location, it offers a relaxing and memorable experience for any traveler.
