Background
The Chateau Beach Resort is an exclusive 5-star resort located in the city of Kenting, right on the most beautiful beach of Taiwan. It is one of the best and most luxurious hotels in Kenting and offers a massive area for guests to explore. The resort is more like a family resort and offers plenty of activities and amenities for children and adults alike. My partner and I stayed in November 2022 and were excited to explore this beautiful resort.

Where is it?
The Chateau Beach Resort is located along the main district where the food and entertainment attractions are of the small town of Kenting. It is a short drive away from countless scenic spots such as the Southernmost point of Taiwan and the Eluanbi Lighthouse. What we found most convenient was the short 5-minute walk into the busy night market with countless food vendors, restaurants, bars, and attractions. As this place is the busiest part of Kenting, we found that we were very lucky that we could walk from our hotel to avoid the parking chaos near the night market.
What’s it like?
The exterior of the Chateau Beach Resort might appear flashy, as it is painted in various bright colours to resemble a colourful European-style design. However, these bright colours actually go well with the blue skies and blue waters to transport you to a tropical universe. The interior colours are less bold but still achieving a European theme. The hotel is also very spacious in any corner or room, which we liked. Once we walked into the lobby, we were welcomed with live music from a live band, and the reception area was well equipped with many desks, making the check-in process seamless.
The rooms
The Chateau Beach Resort has 295 rooms, and we stayed at the Positano Honeymoon Suite since we were traveling as a couple. As a family resort, the honeymoon suite was one of the few options to have a double bed in our room. The room was gorgeous and spacious, with high ceilings, and the view was stunning as it overlooked the private beach and ocean. We didn’t feel like we were in Taiwan for a second.
Our bathroom also had a 2-person soaking tub that overlooked the same room as our bedroom, and we had good desk space and a living room space with a small couch and coffee table.
Amenities
The hotel has a well-equipped gym that faces the swimming pools and beach. The swimming pools and lounge chairs served as an oasis to the guests. What we enjoyed the most was the private beach. The hotel had cabana beds, beach chairs, and hammocks by the shade for guests to enjoy the sunset over the water. We definitely unintentionally dozed off here from the tranquility and peacefulness.
Other services the hotel offers that we did not use was a lively children’s area with playpens, obstacle courses, and ball pits. There was even a small store in the hotel that offered a huge selection of swimwear and water sport equipment. These services would be perfect for guests traveling with children.
In addition, as we were walking around the hotel, we noticed many banquet halls. This hotel is also known to hold large events such as weddings and other celebrations, and we can definitely see why.
Food and beverage
Dining options that are offered at Chateau Beach Resort are Western, Mediterranean, and Japanese cuisines. However, we did not get a chance to try the dining options at the hotel as we were too excited to try the Taiwanese delicacies at the night market and surrounding local restaurants. Something my partner took advantage of on our 5-minute walk back from the night market was to grab a familiar meal at McDonald’s to end the night, which is just 3 minutes away from the hotel!

The Chateau Beach Resort is a great choice for a child-friendly family vacation in Kenting, Taiwan. The resort has a great location, with easy access to the main night market street, and is within a short drive to many scenic spots. The private beach, multiple pools, and lounge chairs make for a relaxing experience at the hotel.
